Franchises Module

What the module does

• Creates separate franchise pages with a description, poster, year, number of views, and overall rating.
• Links news items to a franchise and builds a list of parts in the required order: by part number or by admin order.
• Automatically pulls posters and year from xFields for each part (and, if necessary, for the franchise itself if the poster is not set manually).
• Calculates the franchise rating as an aggregated score across all parts (total by votes), displays a text rating and stars.
• Displays the rating of each part (based on the news rating data) and can output the standard DLE rating.
• Has two list display modes: classic list and grid (list/grid) — with the ability to switch between them.
• Built-in franchise search by title and description.
• Pagination of the franchise list and convenient navigation.
• Separate templates for the list, card, view, and part row — you fully control the appearance without core edits.

• Support for SEO-friendly URLs (and correct operation without SEO-friendly URLs).
• Sorting settings, number of items per page, default display mode.
• Custom xFields for poster and year (for example: poster, year).
• Length limit for the short description of parts.
• Conditional blocks in templates (for example, show/hide elements when parts are missing).

For whom and for which projects

The module is ideal for movies/TV series, anime, games, music releases, seasonal sports events, themed collections, and any sites where it is important to show “all parts” in one place. The user quickly understands the sequence, sees the quality of the parts by rating and stays on the site longer.
