Smart news filter for DataLife Engine

The module is suitable for online stores, catalogs, movie sites, app websites, real estate, cars, products, services, and any other projects where the standard DLE search is no longer enough.

What the module can do

A visitor can filter news by several parameters at once:

• news title and content;
• category;
• tag;
• publication date;
• rating;
• number of views;
• DLE additional fields;
• range of numeric values;
• pre-created SEO pages.

You can also configure sorting by date, title, rating, views, and additional fields.

For example, on an app website you can create a filter by price, Android version, category, and year of update. On a movie site — by year, country, genre, and rating. In a product catalog — by price, brand, size, and availability.

Separate filters for additional fields

Each DLE additional field can be displayed as a separate form element.

Supported:

• standard dropdown list;
• multiple dropdown list;
• checkboxes;
• radio buttons;
• text field;
• numeric field;
• range from and to;
• slider for price or another numeric value.

For each field, the following can be configured separately:

• whether to show it in the filter or not;
• name;
• form element type;
• value comparison method;
• automatic collection of options from news;
• manual list of options;
• value separator;
• minimum and maximum value;
• slider step;
• prefix and suffix;
• sorting capability;
• numeric, text, or date sorting type.

AJAX filtering

Results are loaded without a full page reload.

During AJAX operation, the module can:

• update the list of found news;
• switch navigation pages;
• change the URL in the address bar;
• update the page Title;
• hide the standard DLE feed;
• scroll the page to the results;
• show a loading indicator;
• preserve the operation of favorite buttons.

If necessary, AJAX can be disabled. Then the filter will work with a standard transition to a separate page.

Filter results can be cached to reduce the load on the database.

SEO capabilities

The filter can be used not only as a user filter, but also to create full-fledged landing pages.

In the admin panel, you can create a ready-made page, for example:

and assign the required parameters to it.
